More than 40,000 adults in Anne Arundel County lack the literacy skills needed to obtain a high school diploma.

The AACLC — Anne Arundel County Literacy Council— is transforming lives through free, convenient, individualized literacy, math, high school diploma prep, and ESL instruction for adults and out-of-school youth.

Free instruction for all adults and out-of-school youth in Anne Arundel County.

Convenient meeting times and locations for both student and tutor

Individualized instruction from a trained tutor based on the student’s personal abilities, goals, and interests.

We work with adults who want to:

• Improve their reading
• Earn a high school diploma
• Get a driver’s license
• Prepare for workplace training
• Enroll in & succeed at college programs
• Become a U.S. citizen
• Pass the ASVAB test and enlist in the U.S. military
• Lead fulfilling lives
