Tremendous thanks to the First Baptist Church in Glenarden and their Pastor John Jenkins with his wife Trina, Lee Goode a.k.a. DJ Dynasty, and the Good Time Gang in Gambrills! They gathered and prepared 30 boxes of delicious Thanksgiving food for our AACLC students on Saturday, then Literacy Council staff and tutors delivered them to low-income students throughout Anne Arundel County.

More good news! Student Gwendolyn Brown has launched an exciting and rewarding new career mentoring at-risk girls in Anne Arundel County. Her inspirational story is shared under “Success Stories” (Click here).

Also, another AACLC student has achieved her GED! Please take a moment to celebrate with Brooklyn Flowers and her tutors Dr. Perinaaz Gandhi and Susann Felton. Brooklyn’s hard work and determination to achieve her high school diploma are also shared in “Success Stories.”

Finally, we have TWO generous AACLC donors who will be matching donations up to $5,000 this year for #GivingTuesday on December 3rd! If you haven’t submitted your AACLC membership donation yet and would like to do so, this is a great opportunity. You can donate this year on our AACLC facebook page, on our AACLC website, or by check and all will qualify to be doubled!

Warm regards,

Director, AACLCLisa Vernon, Executive Director
