Earning a High School Diploma with the Literacy Council

The Literacy Council is accepting new students and can help Anne Arundel County residents pursue a diploma through the GED or the NEDP. Please refer prospective students to our website at icanread.org or to our voicemail line at 410-269-4419.

In FY24, six Literacy Council students earned high school diplomas.

So far this fiscal year, five students have achieved this life-changing goal.

Congratulations to all!

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 30 million adults in the United States have not completed their high school diploma. ALL IN — The Adult Literacy & Learning Impact Network — reports that “Earning a diploma is shown to significantly impact individual and collective well-being.” Studies show that adult education programs provide opportunities for improving literacy, gaining workforce skills, and increasing earnings. Learn more.
