In addition to the 2010 Board Elections, the Executive Board would like to put forward for consideration the following motion adding the positions of Student Representative and Tutor Representative to the Executive Board.
Motion to amend the bylaws of the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council, Inc. as adopted January 26, 1995.
Amend ARTICLE V Elections C. by adding the new elective offices of Tutor Representative and Student Representative.
Existing language:
C. The elected officers shall be president, vice president, recording secretary, treasurer and corresponding secretary.
Proposed amended language:
C. The elected officers shall be president, vice president, recording secretary, treasurer, corresponding secretary, tutor representative, and student representative.
Amend ARTICLE VI Duties of Officers by inserting new Sections F. and G. in front of the existing Section F. and renaming the existing Section F. as Section H.
Existing language:
F. All officers shall (a) perform the duties prescribed in the parliamentary authority in addition to those outlined in these bylaws and those assigned from time to time, and deliver (b) to their successors all the official materials within 30 days following the election of their successors.
Proposed amended language:
F. The tutor representative shall be a current active tutor of the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council, attend board meetings, and participate in all activities of the board. The tutor representative is intended to provide the board with perspectives from the organization’s tutors.
G. The student representative shall be a current active student of the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council, attend board meetings, and participate in all activities of the board. The student representative is intended to provide the board with perspectives from the organization’s students.
